Children's Ministries

Jesus said "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."      Matthew 19:14

Please note that group gatherings for services, as well as children's ministries, are currently on hold to mitigate the transmission of the COVID-19 virus. The information below is for when on-site services resume.

We value safe and fun nursery care, and we want to provide a chance for parents of very small children to be able to participate in the services. Children up to 1 year of age are welcome in our supervised nursery during Sunday services year-round. (During Family Services and in August the Nursery is open to parents and infants but supervision may not be available.) A Parents Room is also provided for those who need to tend to their young children during the services.

Weekend Children's Ministries

(Sundays, Sept. to June)
Songs, games, Bible stories & activities for children ages 1 to Grade 5! Large & small group experiences are designed to help kids Know Christ, Grow in Christ, Serve Christ and Share Christ with those around them. Children are dismissed for Children's Ministries partway through the Sunday services throughout the year, interspersed with the occasional Family Service, when the children remain with their families during the service.
- On September Kick-off and Easter Sunday, special sessions of Children's Ministries take place during the entire services.

  • 1&2 and 3&4 Years of Age
There's nothing more important than getting kids into God's Word. Kids will delight in the games, art, stickers, story-telling, and music as they learn about God's Word and how to apply it to their lives.
  • Grades K-1 and 2-3
Children work through exciting curriculum and enjoy Large Group and Small Group times. (Large Group times take place in the gym, with children returning to the lower auditorium for sign-out & parent pick-up.)
  • Grades 4-5
Kids in grades 4-5  cover biblical topics that help them adjust to the coming teen years while building their faith. Each week these kids meet with grades 2-3 before splitting off for their own class time. (Grade 6 students who are interested are welcome to join the gr. 4-5 class for Sept. 2019-June 2020 if they would like to.)

Summer Children's ministries

The Wild Kingdom class (ages 1-2) continues on Sundays throughout summer, and ages 3 to grade 4 gather as a large group for activities during the services.

Children's Christmas Production

Our yearly Christmas presentations involve kids from preschool age to grade 5 (6)!. Sunday morning practices for the next production will begin late September/early October.

  • Pioneer Girls is a Christian club program for girls in grades 2-5. This program gives girls opportunities to learn new skills, make friends, have fun and develop Christian values. The girls are meeting at GMB every other week - check the current bulletin for more info. Click here for the Pioneer Girls website.
  • Boys Brigades (Christian Service Brigade) is an outreach program for boys grades 3 to 5. Our goal is to show the boys the love of Christ as we play games, go on outings, earn achievements and study Bible lessons, so they will open their hearts to the Lord. All the boys meet in the Greendale MB facility every other week - check the current bulletin for more info. Click here for the CSB website
  • Please note that as we transition grades to match the school district, grade 6 students are encouraged to participate in the youth ministry, but those in grade 6 who are interested in attending clubs for this year (2019/20) will be permitted to do so.

Vacation Bible School

VBS is for any child entering Kindergarten to entering Grade 5 and is held yearly in conjunction with River of Life Church. It's been exciting to see how God uses this ministry to impact the lives of children in Chilliwack!
